Extension

If you do not request an extension and do not submit your tax return on time, you risk a fine and a higher provisional income tax assessment.

Why does The Bookie request an extension?

Because it is impossible for accountants to complete all income tax returns before 1 May, we — as is customary — automatically request an extension for our clients.

This extension gives us until 1 May of the following year to submit your return.

We do ask you to complete the questionnaire no later than 31 October 2026 so that we have enough time to finalize your tax return neatly before the new year begins.

Example: we prepare your 2025 income tax return

  • Financial year: 1 January 2025 through 31 December 2025

  • Standard deadline Tax Administration: 30 April 2026

  • Deadline to submit information in The Bookie Webapp: 31 October 2026

  • Extended deadline for tax intermediaries (with extension): 30 April 2027

Standard extension

Did you have a subscription with The Bookie in the year for which we are filing? Then we automatically request an extension for you.

Do you have a fiscal partner and would you like us to also prepare their tax return? Please let us know no later than 30 April 2026. We will then also request an extension and authorization for your partner.

Late extension

Was no extension requested by mistake, and did you receive a letter from the Tax Administration stating that your return was not received before 1 May? No worries.

As your accountant, we can still request an extended postponement.

If you receive a letter between 1 May and 31 August 2026, please call us immediately so we can still arrange the extension. This is possible until 1 September 2026.
